Shane can gladly talk about any subject and has given more than 3,500 speeches throughout his professional career. He has also played the role of MC at over 250 functions including the Australian Institute of Engineers, Engineering Week, Australian Lebanese Association and many others.

- Member of Toastmasters International since 1989.
- Served as Area 41 Governor in 2012.
- Awarded Toastmasters highest honour - the Distinguished Toastmaster Award (DTM) in 2012.
- Completed over 50 speaking manuals.
- Competed in 161 speech contests at Toastmasters, winning 97 of those (with 51 Seconds). Categories of speaking at Toastmasters have included International Speech; Humorous Speech; Table Topics; Evaluation; Parliamentary and Tall Tales.
- Won 5 Young Engineers Public Speaking Contests 1989-1999. This included 2 NSW State titles, 2 ACT titles and 1 National Title in 1999.
- MC at the Australian Lebanese Association special guest night held at the Parliament of NSW. Guests included 3 visiting MPs from Lebanon in Australia to erect a statue in honour of the first Lebanese settler, 2010.
- MC at the ALA Youth Awards Night 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
- MC at the Discover Engineering Forum 2009, 2010.
- Guest Speaker at the Australian Arab Business Council in 2017.
- Guest Panellist at the UDIA Annual State Conference in 2017.
- Speaker at Unleash You Career Expo in 2019.
